Candle Care

Proper candle care is essential to ensure a clean, even burn, preserve fragrance quality and extend the life of your candle. Each candle is designed to create a calm, enduring atmosphere; a few simple practices will allow you to experience your candles at their best.

The First Burn
The initial burn sets the memory of your candle. Allow the wax to melt fully to the edges of the vessel before extinguishing. This typically takes 2–3 hours, depending on the size. If the wax is not allowed to reach the edges tunnelling may occur, reducing both burn time and fragrance throw.

Wick Maintenance
Trim the wick to approximately 5 mm before each use. A properly trimmed wick supports a steady, controlled flame and prevents soot or excessive flickering. If the wick becomes too long, the flame may grow too large, leading to uneven burning and residue on the glass.

Burn Time Guidelines
For optimal performance, burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time. Extended burning can cause the vessel to overheat and may compromise the integrity of the fragrance. Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting.

Candle Placement
Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface that is away from drafts, vents and open windows. Air movement can disturb the flame leading to uneven burning or dripping.

Keep candles away from curtains, pets and children.

Extinguishing Your Candle
Use a snuffer or gently blow out the flame to extinguish. Avoid dipping the wick into the melted wax as this can affect future burns and fragrance clarity.

Caring for the Wax Pool
A clean wax pool contributes to both appearance and performance. Remove any debris such as trimmed wick fragments or matches from the surface before relighting. This helps maintain a pure burn and prevents secondary ignition points.

When to Stop Burning
Discontinue use when approximately 10–12 mm of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel. Burning beyond this point may cause overheating or damage to the container.

Storage
Store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Excessive heat or light exposure can fade fragrance and discolour the wax over time. Keeping the candle covered when not in use will also help preserve its scent.
